At Witty Machines, we are building the smartest machines for small and medium sized businesses in the food industry. We are looking for an early employee to help us scale our operations.
As our first Head of Operations, you’ll make sure our company runs as smoothly as possible, from supporting the sales process, ensuring our manufacturing process runs smoothly to that we offer our current customers the best possible service, long after installation.
This is a hands on role. You will have to design and build processes from scratch and tweak them as we grow. You’ll spend time on the field actually installing systems and talking to customers.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Plan and manage machine deployments
- Manage and continuously improve our manufacturing process
- Manage inventory and supplier relationships
- Supporting the sales process to ensure it runs smoothly and we are actually able to deliver what we sell
- Design and iteratively improve workflows, ensuring the team has the necessary information, resources, and clear processes to operate at maximum efficiency, building the right thing and delivering it in time
- Translating client contracts to delivery plans
- Define and build our field service and customer support model
- Help inform product decisions, making sure we develop the products into the right direction
What we are looking for
- Some engineering background. Either through a degree (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or similar) or through hands-on experience in a technical manufacturing or automation environment
- You can read bills of materials, use some CAD software and hold conversations with engineers
- Structured, process and systems oriented mindset
- Some experience building processes from scratch, not just executing existing ones
- Willingness to travel to customer sites
- Fluid in English and ideally either German or French
